Certified Health Professionals (CHP) is an independent testing organization certifying individuals in the allied health industry. A CHP National Certification provides an assurance of education and the knowledge of specialized training in seven healthcare careers.

CHP offers nationwide certification for Medical Billing and Coding Professionals, EKG Technicians, Patient Care Technicians, Phlebotomy Technicians, Administrative Medical Assistants, Clinical Medical Assistants, and a combined Administrative and Clinical Medical Assistant.

Certification exams are offered by our independent proctors, offsite or in your class rooms providing a known testing environment.

How do I register to become a CHP Member?

Click on the New Member Registration button on the top right of any page and complete the required information. The last page of the registration will require you to select a password. Your Login Id will be your email address and your password will be selected by you. Please write down your Login Id and Password for future reference.

How do I register to take a certification exam?

You must register to become a CHP Member prior to scheduling an exam, workshop or completing an application. (Follow the instructions on the question "How do I register to become a CHP Member?" for details.) Log into the CHP website using the Members box located on the top right of the Home Page. You will be directed to the Members Section. Select the Schedule Exam button and follow the directions provided. Do not forget to print and sign your application. Please include the required documentation, listed on the last page of your application, in your Member Registration package being mailed to CHP.

How do I complete an application for recertification?

Select the Recertification Application button, choose the certification type and follow the directions provided. Do not forget to print and sign your application. You must complete this process for each credential you would like to recertify. How do I complete an application for reciprocity?

Select the Reciprocity Application button, select the certification type and follow the directions provided. Do not forget to print and sign your application. You must complete this process for each credential you would like to receive reciprocity for. Please include the required documentation, listed on the last page of the application, in your Member Registration package being mailed to CHP.

How do I register to take a workshop?

When and how do I receive my exam results?

Exam results will be available on the CHP Website in 5 business days. Simply sign on to the CHP Website with your Login ID and Password, go to the Members Section and select the Exam Results button. Your exam results will be displayed. CHP will also notify you via email that your exam results have been entered on the website.

How can I print a certification letter online?

You can print a certification letter online for all your credentials from our website. Simply sign on to the CHP Website with your Login ID and Password, go to the Members Section and select the Certification Letters button. Your certifications will be displayed, select the certification and click print. You will be able to print a certification letter for each credential.

How do I contact CHP?

How do I get certified?

Go to the Get Certified page on the CHP website, select the certification you would like and follow the specific requirements for that credential.

How do I get Recertified or earn Continuing Education Credits (CEUs)?

Go to the Recertification page on the CHP Website and follow the directions on the page.

What are the requirements to apply for a CHP Certification and take the exam?

You must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma, GED and/or state equivalent. You must possess a Graduation Certificate from a CHP approved college, accredited high school or technical school within the last 3 years. Provisional Certification - Any applicant scheduled to graduate an accredited high school, technical school or GED program or are turning eighteen years of age in the next 12 months will receive a Provisional Certification until the required documentation is received and confirmed by CHP. CHP requires a copy of your high school diploma, GED or state equivalent be mailed to our office. Provisional Certifications will expire after 12 months, cannot be renewed, cannot be reinstated and will be renewed based on the original testing date.
