Certified Health Professionals (CHP) is an independent testing organization certifying individuals in the allied health industry. A CHP National Certification provides an assurance of education and the knowledge of specialized training in seven healthcare careers.

CHP offers nationwide certification for Medical Billing and Coding Specialists, EKG Technicians, Patient Care Technicians, Phlebotomy Technicians, Administrative Medical Assistants, Clinical Medical Assistants, and a combined Clinical and Administrative Medical Assistant.

Certification Exams are offered by our independent proctors, offsite or in your class rooms providing simplicity to students and a known testing environment.

How do I register to become a CHP Member?

Click on the New Member Registration button on the top right of the Home Page and complete the required information. The last page of the registration will require you to select a password. Your Login Id will be your email address and your password will be selected by you. Please write down your Login Id and Password for future reference. You will also receive an email, at the email address selected for your Login ID, from CHP to confirm and complete your Member Registration. You must confirm your registration within 5 days of completing your online registration or you will be required to complete the registration again. Please check your junk mail and spam folder if you do not receive the CHP confirmation email within 24 hours. Most of the CHP "lost" emails are located in those files. Please use the Contact Us page of the website if you have any additional questions or concerns.

How do I register to take an exam?

You must register to become a CHP Member prior to scheduling an exam, workshop or completing an application. (Follow the instructions on the question "How do I register to become a CHP Member?" for details.) From the Home Page in the Members box, log into the website. You will be directed to the Members Section. Select the Schedule Exam button and follow the directions provided. Do not forget to print and sign your application. Please include the required documentation, listed on the last page of your application, in your Member Registration package being mailed to CHP.

How do I complete an application for recertification?

You will be directed to the Members Section. Select the Recertification button, choose the certification type and follow the directions provided. Do not forget to print and sign your application. You must complete this process for each credential you would like to recertify. How do I complete an application for reciprocity?

You must register to become a CHP Member prior to scheduling an exam, workshop or completing an application. From the Home Page in the Members box, log into the website. You will be directed to the Members Section. Select the Reciprocity button, select the certification type and follow the directions provided. Do not forget to print and sign your application. You must complete this process for each credential you would like to receive reciprocity for. Please include the required documentation, listed on the last page of the application, in your Member Registration package being mailed to CHP.

How do I complete an application for reclamation?

How do I register to take a workshop?

You must register to become a CHP Member prior to scheduling an exam, workshop or completing an application. You will be directed to the Members Section. Select the Schedule Workshop button and follow the directions provided. Do not forget to print and sign your application. You may be required to submit additional information for a CHP Workshop. Specific requirements will be noted on the Workshop Page of the website.

When and how do I receive my exam results?

Exam results will be available on the CHP Website in 5 business days. Simply sign on to the CHP Website with your Login ID and Password, go to the Members Section and select the View Exam Results button. Your exam results will be displayed. CHP will also notify you via email that your exam results have been entered on the website. You have the option of printing a Certification Letter for each of your certifications by selecting the Current Certifications button in the Member section. Your Member ID Card will be mailed under separate cover to the address provided on your application within 14 business days of receiving your online exam results.

How do I receive or how can I get a Certification Letter from CHP?

You can print a certification letter for all your credentials from our website. Simply sign on to the CHP Website with your Login ID and Password, go to the Members Section and select the Current Certifications button. Your certifications will be displayed, select the certification you would like a letter for and click on print. You will be able to print a Certification Letter for each credential. Your Member ID Card will be mailed under separate cover to the address provided on your application within 14 business days of receiving your online exam results.

How do I get Certified?

Go to the Get Certified page on the CHP Website, select the certification you would like and follow the specific requirements for that credential.

How do I get Recertified or earn Continuing Education Credit (CEUs)?

Go to the Recertification page on the CHP Website and follow the directions on the page.

What are the requirements to apply for a CHP Certification and take the exam?

You must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma, GED and/or state equivalent. You must possess a Graduation Certificate from a CHP approved college, accredited high school or technical school within the last 3 years. Provisional Certification - Any applicant scheduled to graduate an accredited high school, technical school or GED program or are turning eighteen years of age in the next 12 months will receive a Provisional Certification until the required documentation is received and confirmed by CHP. CHP requires a copy of your high school diploma, GED or state equivalent be mailed to our office. Provisional Certifications will expire after 12 months, cannot be renewed, cannot be reinstated and will be renewed based on the original testing date.
